These are route-planner figures without traffic or stops. The highway section is straightforward, though the northern exit from Bengaluru is often busy.
Kadiri is in Andhra Pradesh, so interstate permit charges and tolls are extra on top of the rate table.
The town
What Kadiri is known for
Kadiri is a temple town in the dry, rocky country of southern Andhra Pradesh.
- Khadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple: the main attraction, dedicated to Lord Narasimha, and one of the notable Vaishnava temples of the region.
- Thimmamma Marrimanu: a famous ancient banyan tree near Kadiri that spreads over a very large area and draws visitors for its sheer size.
- Puttaparthi: the town of Sri Sathya Sai Baba is in the same part of Andhra Pradesh. Read our Bangalore to Puttaparthi cab page if you plan to visit.
- Lepakshi: the Veerabhadra temple with its famous monolithic Nandi is another popular stop nearby, covered on our Lepakshi cab page.
Temple timings and entry arrangements can change, so check current details locally before you go.
Plan your trip
Day trip or overnight
At about 175 km one way, Kadiri is a long day trip. An early start lets you reach the temple in the morning, and you can return in the evening. If you want to combine Kadiri with Puttaparthi, Lepakshi or the Thimmamma Marrimanu tree, an overnight stay makes the plan more relaxed.
For solo travellers or couples a sedan is a practical choice. Families usually prefer an Innova Crysta because the roads include long straight stretches and you will spend several hours in the car. Temple groups can use a Tempo Traveller.
From Kadiri, you can also continue to Anantapur or head east to Tirupati.
