Airport transfer
Kabini to Bangalore Airport Taxi
Kabini is a wildlife and backwater destination well beyond Mysuru, so the way back to your flight needs a proper plan. A pre-booked cab picks you up from your resort and drives you to Kempegowda Airport in one go.
The drive
From the Kabini backwaters to the airport
Kabini sits on the edge of Nagarhole National Park, around the reservoir formed by the Kabini river, in the Mysuru district of Karnataka. The road to the airport leaves the forest belt, joins the Mysuru highway and then heads up towards the north of Bengaluru. The route planner lists NH 275, SH 33 and NH 44 as the main roads.
| To Kempegowda International Airport | About 235 km, about 3 h 30 min of driving |
| From the airport | About 235 km, about 3 h 30 min of driving |
| Main roads | NH 275, SH 33, NH 44 |
Route-planner figures from OpenStreetMap data, without traffic delays or stops. Bengaluru traffic varies a lot by time of day, so allow extra time for your flight; we will suggest a pickup time when you book.
These are route-planner driving figures without traffic or stops. The same planner puts central Bengaluru at about 200 km, about 3 h from Kabini. Because the whole trip is inside Karnataka, there is no state permit to arrange, though tolls are paid on the way.
Pickup points
Resorts, lodges and villages we can pick up from
Most guests staying at Kabini are in jungle lodges and resorts spread along the reservoir, and some stay in and around HD Kote or the village of Karapura. When you book, tell us:
- The name of your resort or lodge and the nearest village.
- A WhatsApp location pin, because forest-side roads are hard to find by name alone.
- The time you will be back from your last safari or boat ride.
The last point matters. Safari timings are set by the park and your lodge, so ask them when you will be finished and then pick a departure time with that in mind.
Timing
Working back from your flight
A Kabini morning often starts early, but that does not mean you can leave straight after breakfast for an afternoon flight without a cushion. Start with your airline’s check-in cut-off, take away the driving time shown above, and then subtract a generous buffer for slow trucks on the highway, fuel or tea stops, and the approach road to the airport.
If your flight is early in the morning, leave the previous day or stay in Bengaluru the night before. Driving through forest stretches at night is not something we recommend, and wildlife areas can have their own restrictions. Please check current rules locally and talk to us when you book.
Arrivals
Landing in Bengaluru and heading to Kabini
Give us your flight number and terminal (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2) and the name of your resort. Message the driver once your bags are out, and he will meet you at the pickup point outside.
Resort stays often mean bulky camera bags and more luggage than a city trip, so choose a bigger car if there are four or more of you. Our Innova airport taxi page explains the options. For a longer holiday, see Bangalore to Kabini cab, and for onward trips look at Mysore and Coorg.
