Connecting a train arrival to a flight

Trains do not always arrive on schedule, and that matters when a flight is waiting. Before you book, look at the live status of your train and decide how much slack you want between its arrival and the airline’s check-in cut-off.

Share the train name or number with us if you want to discuss the pickup time.
Keep your phone reachable so the driver can reach you on the platform side of the station.
Leave more room for a morning arrival that is followed by a morning flight.

Meeting the driver at SMVT

The terminal has separate approaches for vehicles and a large number of people waiting at once, so decide the meeting point in advance. Typical choices are the main forecourt, the parking side or a nearby road junction, and the driver will tell you which is easiest on the day.

From the Baiyappanahalli side we also pick up from nearby localities, including Indiranagar, the metro-side lanes and the offices along Old Madras Road. If you are heading the other way, from the airport to the station, we can wait outside the terminal building you arrive at once you share your flight number and terminal (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2).

Sedan or Innova for rail luggage

People coming off a train tend to carry more than a flier: trolley bags, a cabin bag and sometimes boxes. A Dzire or Ciaz is fine for one or two passengers with a couple of bags. For a family, or for heavy luggage, take an Innova, Innova Crysta or Innova Hycross.
