Airport transfer

Railway Station to Bangalore Airport Taxi

Arriving in Bengaluru by train and flying out the same day, or landing at the airport to catch a train onward? A pre-booked cab links the city’s main railway stations with Kempegowda International Airport in both directions, so you are not hunting for a ride with heavy bags.

The stations

Which Bengaluru station are you travelling from?

Bengaluru has several major railway stations, and long-distance trains do not all use the same one. Check your ticket for the exact station before booking, because the drive to the airport is quite different from each:

  • KSR Bengaluru City (Majestic) – the main central terminus, next to the Kempegowda bus station. See our Majestic to airport page.
  • Yesvantpur Junction – in the north-west of the city, used by many long-distance trains. See Yeshwanthpur to airport.
  • SMVT Baiyappanahalli – the newer terminal in the east of the city, named after Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
  • Bangalore Cantonment – a central station close to the Frazer Town and Vasanth Nagar areas, where many trains stop before or after Majestic.
  • KR Puram – in the east, a common stop for trains on the Chennai line. See KR Puram to airport.

Distance and time

Bangalore airport to Bangalore railway station distance

There is no single answer to the Bangalore airport to Bangalore railway station distance, because it depends on which station you mean. The airport is in the far north of the city near Devanahalli, so every station involves a cross-city drive, and traffic often matters more than kilometres. The station area pages linked above give route-planner figures for those localities.

Whichever station you use, plan generously. Trains can run late, the roads around central stations are busy for much of the day, and you still need to clear check-in and security at the airport. Check your airline’s check-in cut-off and work backwards with a comfortable buffer.

Both directions

Station to airport, and airport to station

Station to airport. Share your train number and expected arrival time with the booking. If the train is running late, call the driver so the pickup can be adjusted. Tell us which exit you will use, as the larger stations have entrances on more than one side.

Airport to station. Send your flight number, the terminal (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2) and your landing time, along with the station and your train’s departure time. Once you have your bags, call the driver for the pickup point. If the gap between landing and your train is tight, tell us when you book so we can be realistic about timing.

Fares are confirmed when you book. Station and airport parking, where it applies, is charged as per actuals.

Vehicle choice

Picking a car for train luggage

Rail travellers often carry more than flyers: large suitcases, bags of gifts or a family’s luggage for a long trip. A sedan such as the Dzire, Etios or Ciaz suits one or two people with a suitcase each. For families or heavier luggage, the Innova airport taxi options give more boot space and seating. Groups arriving together by train can book a Tempo Traveller.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the station. Majestic, Yesvantpur, SMVT Baiyappanahalli, Cantonment and KR Puram are all in different parts of the city, and the airport is in the far north. Our station area pages show route-planner figures, and traffic usually decides the actual time.

Use the station printed on your ticket. Several long-distance trains stop at more than one Bengaluru station, so if you have a choice, ask us which pickup suits your flight timing.

Share your train number when you book and call the driver if the train is delayed, so the pickup can be planned around the new arrival time.

The fare depends on the station, the vehicle and the time of travel, and it is confirmed when you book. Call or WhatsApp 99640 09999.

An Innova, Innova Crysta or Innova Hycross has more space for suitcases and passengers. A Tempo Traveller suits larger groups.
